Mite Select Win Gold at Provincials
The Exeter Extremes girls fastball team competed in the Provincial Championships in Brampton at the end of August. The team returned home with a gold medal in an eighteen team tournament which hosted teams from all over Ontario.
The girls went 6-0 throughout the weekend. On the first day, the girls defeated their opponents Topham Park 15-3, Erindale 10-0 and Arthur 7-1. During quarterfinals, the team beat Unionville with a walk-off double and a score of 3-2. In semis, the team battled hard and beat Brantford 3-0. In the gold medal game against Forest Glade, the score was 0-0 after four complete innings. At the top of the fifth, Forest Glade went ahead by two runs and the team battled back scoring four runs in the bottom of the inning for a 4-2 final. The team had a very successful season and would like to thank everyone who supported them throughout the season.
