The Sr. Rookie Tier 1 team took on their rivals, St. Marys 1 at home Wednesday night and walked away with a 13 - 9 win.  Exeter is leading St. Marys by 2 points in the division standings and needed the win to stay ahead of the strong team.

The home town rookies played their game and played it well.  Allowing just 9 runs in 6 innings (that is GREAT for Rookie Ball) and showed strong defence while getting runs when it counted.  A lot of clutch hitting by everyone and some very strong defence.

The coach was very impressed with the strong defensive play against a very good hitting St. Marys team.  Everyone played their position well and that is what made the difference in the game.

"It is the little things that count in a game like that", is what the coach told the kids after the game.  Listening the coach, running as hard as you can, getting in front of hit balls and getting hits when they matter.

St. Marys will try to get their revenge on Exeter Tuesday night as the team heads to St. Marys for the rematch.  The kids and parents should be very proud of the way they played tonight.  Way to go guys!
