Mosquito Tier 1, 2013, Baseball (Exeter Minor Ball)

Mosquito Tier 1 team completed a 6 game weekend for the championship with wins over Kincardine, Hanover, St Mary's, Mitchell and avenged an earlier loss with the championship win over Listowel! Players - Mitch Rowecliffe, Jack Robinson, Jared Orr, Damien Willert, Dylan Kints, Jackson McIlwain, Braeden McNaughton, Sheldon Pryce and Nick Bedard Coaches - Chris Rowecliffe, Andy Orr, Darren Kints and Troy Robinson.

The OBA Mosquito Boys team played a solid weekend of ball to win the Championship side of the Tournament.  A convincing win over Ilderton in the final 15-4 showed the other 8 teams that we can play with any tea this season.

 Exeter Express Mosquito Tier one refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against Mitchell, recording a 12-4 victory on Wednesday at Exeter. With 11 runs in the first three innings, Exeter left no doubt about the eventual outcome.   Leading the way offensively were Braeden McNaughton and Nick Bedard. Pitching and defense was solid. Braeden pitched 3 innings and the final 2 were closed out by Jared Orr. Next week the Express play two games to get into full swing this season.

Good pitching and defense led the way in this contest.  Mitch Rowecliffe and Damien Willert were good on the mound and closer Kints (Dylan) got the last two outs.  Rock solid defense with big outfield catches from Willert and Jack Robinson showed the fans that we will play good fundamental baseball this year! Great pitch selection for hitting against the weaker staff from St Mary's was followed by some timely solid hits from Braeden McNaughton, Dylan Kints and Jared Orr. Good effort to start the season.
