Determination and Fun Earn Mite 1 Girls a Silver Metal
Their first game started saturday morning with an early 8:00 am start. The girls played against the host Mitchell team with Exeter nailing a 10-1 victory. Despite the cold damp/ gloomy weather, pitching by Erin Oke and Krista Richardson played a role in the win with 11 strikeouts. Big infield plays from Sailyn Arnold-Foran, Paige Taylor, Mady Brown and Chloe Harris kept the opposing team from advancing the bases. Big throws from the outfield from Sarah Knoblauch and Kayleigh Boyle slowed if not stopped any advancement from Mitchell around the diamond. Great backcatching from Bryanne Baker and Hallee Schilbe also were key in this win.
